Movie: West Side Story

This is an older movie, and a musical, but a very good one. It's a take on Romeo and Juliet, but set in New York City, and instead of two fueding families, there are two fueding gangs- the Jets and the Sharks. Maria, who is the Shark's leader's sister, falls in love with Tony, a member of the Jets, and this causes all sorts of problems. It has several good musical numbers as well. My personal favorites are "Tonight" (Quintet) and "Something's Coming". The movie gets a little weird at parts, like when the Jets are singing "Gee, Officer Krupke", but it's also pretty funny.
The Jets. Their leader, Riff, is in the yellow jacket.
The Sharks. Their leader, Bernardo, is in the red.

The ending of the movie turns out a little bit differently than Romeo and Juliet, but it still mainly follows the same plot line. One warning, though. The beginning of the movie is just a picture of the cover art of the movie and it plays music and stays on that for about five minutes. But you can fast-forward through that. :-)
